Lopen Tshewang Rigzin
I am Tshewang Rigzin and I was born in Jarey Kharchung in 1981, Lhuentse. I joined the Monastic body of Lhuentse Dzong at the age 10, where I began early education in reading and writing. I studied extensive Buddhist scriptures for years and later in 2006, I graduated with a M.A in Buddhist Philosophy from the University of Tago at Thimphu. After completing my studies, I practiced the Mahamudra preliminary meditation and guru sadhana in Chari Monastery under the guidance of His Holiness the 68thJekhenpo Tenzin Dendup. I also studied Sanskrit and Buddhist literature in Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi in 2008 and subsequently came back to Bhutan in 2018. I served as a lecturer at Tago Buddhist Institute for five years, and currently I’m a research Dean in DordenTashithang Buddhist University. I have published books on Buddhist literature viz., Nyen-ngak Nyingdue (Metaphores), Tsomrig Lamten (Way of writing stanzas) and commentary of Lekshay Joenwang (Grammar).
