Lopen Chimi Wangchuk
My name is Chhimi Wangchuk from Thara under Punakha dzongkhag. I was born on the fifth day of the fifth month in the year 1992, and joined Pung-Thim monastery to become a monk at the age of six. Until 2004, I practiced mask dance, Mandala, and melody of Drukpa lineage for eight years. After that I stayed in Bod-kar Drak Karpo monastery from 2004 until 2007. Then I went to Sewa La Shedra and gradually learned: The middle Way (Madhya Mika), Perfection of Wisdom, Canon of Monastic Discipline, Metaphysics, and Logic under the guidance of the great mentors like Geshe Tshering Dorji and Khenpo Nima for five years. In 2013, I went to Wogmin Chhoekhor Tse Shedra in Kanglung for further studies. I studied from great Master Khenpo Karma Rangdol and other learned lecturers, and acquired my degree of Shastri.

Currently I’m working here as a teacher. I work in the Research Division too. Also, I am looking forward further more in future to serve the monastic body of Bhutan.
