Khenpo karma Thai Dorji
I was born in 1979 in one of the villages of Shar, called Kipje-kha, andjoined sangha and got registered atPung-Thim monastic body when I was seven in 1987. Starting from basic education such as practicing alphabets, I memorised monastic prayer texts as much as it’s required at Dechen-PhodrangLobdra in Thimphu. When I was ten, in the year 1990, I took admission at Chari meditation centre and practiced Vajrayana rites and memorised its texts as well. Whilst staying there, I even got an opportunity to receive the teachings of Preliminary Practice, Attaining the Guru, and the profound teachings of Chakra Samvara with quintessential instruction and oral transmission as well, from Je Trizur Rinpoche. From the year 1992 to 2000, I went to Tago Buddhist institute and studied Buddhist philosophies and literature. At the same time despite being a student, I even had had to teach at the institute as well. In the year 2000, I went to ChariMeditation Centre for three years meditation. Following the completion of the practice in 2003, I was appointed as a teacher at TagoShedra. I served there as a lecturer for seven years, and then as a senior lecturer for a few years. In 2014, I was appointed as a vice president. In 2016 I came inDordenTashithangBuddhist University, since then I’m serving here as vice president.
